We have listed for you certain frequent asked questions regarding the use of air conditioning equipment’s. This list is frequently updated, but in case it does not respond to your needs we kindly invite you to send your question by email to the following address: info@toyotomi.ge
Where can I find a copy of the user manual?
If you no longer have the manual, you can find it in our website database. In case of problems, it is advisable to consult the manual. If you are unable to solve the problem, please contact your local dealer/installer.
What do the terms COP and EER mean?
The terms COP (coefficient of performance) and EER (energy efficiency ratio) describe the heating and cooling efficiency of air conditioning systems. They indicate the heating or cooling ratio supplied by a unit in relation to the amount of electricity supplied to generate it. Thus, if an air conditioning system generates 5 kW of heat with 1 kW of electricity supplied, its COP is 5.0. Similarly, if an air conditioning system generates 5 kW of cold with 1 kW of electricity supplied, its EER is also 5.0. The higher the COP and EER, the more energy efficient the equipment is.
Most common Error Codes on the indoor unit panel?
See the table with the error codes and check which security system was activated. Correct as appropriate. When the status of the unit is not normal, the temperature indicator of the inner unit will flash, and the following error codes may occur:
- (E5) Disappears when you reset the unit. If this is not the case, contact qualified personnel.
- (E8) Fades when resetting the unit. If this is not the case, contact a qualified person.
- (U8) Disappears when you restart the unit. If not, contact qualified personnel.
- (H6) Disappears when you reset the unit. If not, contact qualified professionals.
- (C5) Contact a qualified professional.
- (F1) Contact a qualified professional.
- (F2) Contact a qualified professional.
- (H3) Can be deleted after restarting the unit. If it does not disappear, please contact a qualified professional.
- (E1) Can be deleted after restarting the unit. If it does not disappear, please contact qualified professionals
- (E6) Can be deleted after restarting the unit. If it does not disappear, please contact qualified professionals
What is sound pressure/ sound power?
The Sound pressure level it is a measure of the sound energy emitted from the noise source, expressed in decibels or dBA.
The Sound power level it is the above measure but measured under predefined conditions
The sound power level is independent:
- the location of the equipment
- of environmental conditions and
- from distance to measuring point
What is a Heat Pump?
For heating purposes, a heat pump uses a refrigerant gas circuit to extract energy from the outside air and place it in water to increase its temperature. This hot water in turn is used to heat a domestic hot water tank or to be sent to water heating systems (e.g. cooling fans, underfloor heating, radiators, sanitary hot water).
Instead, for cooling purposes, in the case of reversible heat pumps, energy is extracted from the water and transferred to the outside air, lowering its temperature. This cold water is sent to water heating systems (e.g. cooling fans).
The efficiency of the heat pump is usually evaluated according to the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system, which usually varies between 3 and 5. In other words, heat extraction from renewable sources requires only 1 kW of power supply to generate between 3 kW and 5 kW of heating. Thus, heat pump systems are 3 to 5 times more efficient than solid fuel boilers and are more capable of fully heating a house, even during the lowest winter temperatures
Is Legionella an Air Conditioning Bacteria?
No. Legionella is associated with water, not air.
Legionella bacteria live naturally in water. Temperature is of enormous importance in the development of legionella. Especially temperatures between 40 °C and 50 °C can lead to the colonisation of bacteria.
Since TOYOTOMI does not use water in air conditioning systems, no harm is done to humans. In Mini Chiller and Heat Pump systems for industrial/household purposes, legionella bacteria cannot survive due to the low temperature of the water in the closed circuit.
Why does air conditioning sometimes work abnormally?
Air conditioning systems sometimes work abnormally due to weather factors such as lightning, and others such as radio waves. As a consequence, these factors cause the power supply to be switched off and reactivated from the circuit You should switch off the power through the circuit breaker and then reconnect the power and restart the air conditioning system.
Doesn’t the air conditioning system heat or cool the room?
Check the following:
– Make sure that the air filters in the interior unit are not dirty.
– Make sure that the windows and doors are not open but closed.
– Make sure the air inlets and outlets of the indoor and outdoor units are not obstructed by any objects.
– Make sure that there are no dehumidifiers or fans operating in the same room to be heated.
– Make sure the temperature setting on the remote control is adequate.
What are BTU’s ?
BTU stands for British Thermal Unit and is the measure that represents the power of each air conditioner. It determines what will be the cooling power of your air conditioner.
To better understand how the capacity of the air conditioner is calculated, as an example, 1 BTU is the amount of cold required to reduce the temperature of half a liter of water by 0.56 ºC.
Every 500 BTU’s cool/heat about 1m2 effectively, so the larger the area you want to heat/cool, the more power (BTU’s) you will need for the appliance to work effectively. Through this calculation you will find an approximate ideal power taking into account the area you want to cool/heat.
By defining the BTU’s needed for space, you can purchase the equipment with the appropriate power!
What factors should I consider to properly air condition the space I want?
Whether it is to refresh or to heat an area, an Air Conditioner is essential to maintain a stable ambient temperature, however, to find the equipment that best suits your needs you must take into consideration some specifications.
To dimension the measurement for physical spaces, in m², a calculation is made taking into account the density and weight of water. In practice, this will affect the size of the space where your air conditioning will be installed.
The factors that should take into account besides the size of the room, should also be the incidence of sunlight, also the number of people and electronic equipment present. This way you will ensure that your air conditioning will work properly to the place where it is installed
Remarks:
– It is not recommended to use devices below the indicated power. In some cases, this may cause problems for the equipment, increasing maintenance costs and energy consumption, as well as taking longer to cool/warming up the environment.
How to choose my Air Conditioner?
We present you the 3 types of air conditioning:
If you don’t have pre-installation air conditioning, you can consider portable equipment. It is less efficient, as it requires a window to be ajar for the passage of the pipe, reducing the effect of air conditioning. On the other hand, it can be moved to various areas of the house and does not need to be installed by a professional.
If you have pre-installation of air conditioning or are willing to do work for its installation, you have two options: the mono-split and the multi-split.
The mono-split has a unit installed outside the house, connected to an interior unit that can be of various types: murals, cassettes, ducts and floor-top, double-flow console or vertical cabinet. These units are fixed and have to be installed by a certified professional. They allow very good energy yields and are silent.
The multi-split has an outdoor unit and up to 5 indoor units. It also has to be installed by a certified professional and works in a similar way to mono-split air conditioning. In most cases you do not have to install all the indoor units immediately.
All TOYOTOMI models are of inverter technology. This can vary the rotation speed of the compressor, adapting its power to real needs. In other words, it avoids frequent stoppages and starts, consumes less energy, and guarantees less temperature variations.
How to clean the filters on my air conditioner?
The filter should be cleaned every three months. If there is a lot of dust at the operating site of the appliance, the cleaning frequency can be increased.
After removing the filter, do not touch the fins to avoid injury.
Do not use a fire or hair dryer to dry the filter. This will avoid deformation and risk of fire.
The filters should be cleaned according to the figure described below.
